Topic of my thesis is based on one of my projects at Oracle Hungary Kft. I developed modifications for Oracle E-Business Suite enterprise resource planning software.

Our team is a part of Oracle Application Labs, and our task is internal developing and customization of the system in accordance with the company’s needs. In different parts of the world, there are different legislations, thus each of the regulations in the software has to fit with the local requirements. During development one of my main aspects was to deliver relevant solutions for the business processes, keeping in mind the appropriate user experience.

The Oracle ERP consists of several modules, I myself have dealt with OTL (Oracle Time and Labor) component, which is created for registration and controlling of the working time of employees.

As a part of my job, I have designed and implemented the validations, alerts and also the environment in the system in accordance with the local rules. I have created the business logic in Fast Formula and I have developed in PL/SQL the low level algorithms which have to reach and use the database.

In addition to customize the software, I have applied several new settings, and I have had to modify existing settings in the graphical interface and also in the system description files. In the end, I have done the patching of the modifications to the live system from the test environment in order to enter into force among the employees.
