Development of an image porcessing based sport event management system

The healthy lifestyle is getting more and more important nowadays including the sports. Professional time measurement systems are significantly increase the cost of organizing amateur sport events.

In this thesis, a cost-effective time measurement system is presented to support the organization and management of amateur sport events using common electric devices.

The presented time measurement system is considering the special conditions of outdoor sport events which is absence of internet connection in the aspect of computers..

The results are determined by results sent with computers, using picture of digital cameras and smartphones. The system can identify the competitors and registrate their result by using imageprocessing. The system automatically get notified by smartphones when a competitor passing a checkpoint.

In sporting events the need for the competitions can be followed is increasing so the presented system is able to publish result of competitors during the sport event.
