Parallel implementation of image transformation algorithms

Parallel programing is a highly important part in the development of the software which requiring high performance. Image transformation algorithms are one of them. The aim of this thesis to show some transformation like that, to present my software which implemented digital image processing in parallel environment and finally to evaluate the results.

Image transformation creates different picture from an other, which existed before. Sometimes this creation takes a long time, because every pixel of the initial image will be modified by a complex algorithm.

My program implemented a parallel framework, which includes variety of parallel method. These methods are used by image modifier algorithms. The software also includes four different types of image transformations.

First is Conway’s game of life. This realize a binary picture processing. Then, there is the picture size reducing formula, which make a pixel number modifier transformation. The third is the histogram maker which is also a shape finder. It is a color modifier. And last but not least, my software has a median filter.

All of my program part and their operating principle will be presented in this document.
