The main goal in my thesis was to develop an inventory and document management system for a small sized company. Currently there is plenty of enterprise resource planning software, which is besides other functionality capable of handling these problems. However these systems are usually modules of huge, complex solutions. This is on the one hand makes the system flexible and configurable by their users; they can pick the necessary modules and configure them adapted to the needs of the company. On the other hand the excessive complexity and the administrative overload that comes together with these systems can deter many small companies. Moreover, even if these huge, complex systems are configurable, a system designed to one company can even more conform to the special needs of the enterprise.
My aim was to design and implement a simple and easy to use inventory management system for the ITO Technik Kft., which can adapt to the special needs of the company as much as possible. It was also an important point of view to reduce the administrative overload arising from the go-live of the system, and does not contain superfluous functions from the company point of view.
The designed product not only conforms to the specification, but also has broad opportunity of further development, so the system can be easily functionally extended or changed.
