Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems (C-ITS) which aims to improve traffic safety and efficiency is rapidly spreading in the whole world, especially in Europe, the United States, and in the Far East. Vehicles and specified element of the road side infrastructure, as parts of this system, are communicating with each other with new standardized protocol messages. The amount and the sending frequency of these messages are both very high.
Before deploying a reliable C-ITS it is crucial to know the performance of the radio communication of the devices in various scenarios. It is important during the deployment phase when the amount and position of the road side infrastructure elements are determined. These analyzes require the design and implantation of a proper test system.
The thesis describes the architecture of a C-ITS station, especially the low layer parts of the architecture. The main goal of the thesis is to design and implement a test system that is capable of analyzing the performance of the radio communication.
