Dr. Veronika Müller, the Deputy Director of the pulmonology clinic on Semmelweis University contacted me in the August of 2015. She requested my help on creating a system for the clinic. The system should solve the problem of sending data from patient monitoring machines to a central computer.
There are already existing systems like this, but the clinic cannot afford them. Due to some patient security reasons the clinic needs a central monitoring system.
After orientation we realized that we will use cameras to capture the screen of the patient monitoring machines. The captured images will be sent to the central computer. On the central computer an application will decode the life phenomenon values. The system should store the acquired data and provide a possibility to export or print them.
The system requires a complex architecture. From building the network, to releasing the product to the existing infrastructure, there are a lot of problem that must be solved during the engineering of the system. With Tamás Rési we decided to create the system the best as we can.
My thesis contains the details of planning the system and details of the implementation. We divided the tasks. I will focus on presenting the details of the work that I did.
