Wireless sensor network for environmental parameter measurement

In my degree I developed an end device which is connected to a wireless sensor network

I examined some 802.15.4 based standard Zigbee és 6LowPAN and some not 802.15.4 based techonologies like WirelessHart end Bluetooth 4.0. I analysed the features and the opportunity of these standards.

I collected a list of environmental parameters that can be measured and modif easy and cheap. I chose some from the list like temperature and humidity.

After checking the capabilities I chose the right sensors for environment parameters measurement. The important properties of the sensors are the wide operational range, the accuracy and energy saving. I prepared the schematic design and printed circuit board.

Next I implemented a simple application that uses the hardware. For application development I used the Bitcloud software stack because it is free, well-documented and easy to use. I analysed the operation of the software stack.

In the next step I measured the power consumption of the developed system and I modificated the application to make more energy-efficient.

I prepared 3 end devices, and I tested the the system under different circumtances to check the accuracy of the measurement and range of the system.

At the end of the I evaluted the system and I looked for some further development possibility like using more further sensors and a central PC for fetching the measured values.
