Survey of the features of the PLC/BPL systems operating in different bandwidth and development procedure and software supporting the design of the transmission capability

Nowadays in this economics the main part of an investment is the price. Investors want to pay less and earn more money. Engineers needs to minize the prices but keep the technical contents. This cost reduction appears from planning to design. It has many ways, just mention one is use less utilities, cabels etc.

This is where the PLC (Pover Line Communication) technology has a great advance. We can carry energy and data only in one wire. It is no need to lay cabels for communication, other cabels for transport power.

In my diploma I will give an overview of BPL (Broadband over Power Line) technology, physical background, operation, modulation technologies. During labratory measures I would mesasure the bandwidth loss effect of different network utilities and cabels. From results of measuring I will create an application which helps the user to foreshow the expected bandwidth. After installation the BPL system on an existint network I will measure bandwidth and compare the measured bandwidth and the calculated bandwidth.
