Investigating compatibility of legacy technologies in LTE networks

As the title „Analysis of LTE networks focusing on compatibility with currently used technologies” suggests, my thesis demonstrates the analysis of LTE networks, with reference to its compatibility with other currently used technologies.

In the first part of my thesis I explain the validity of the question nowadays. On the one hand I clarify my perspective analysis, on the other hand I enumerate the development of mobile telephony from its roots to the latest improvements. Moreover I show the most important requirements this new technology should meet, as well as the technologies necessary to carry them out.

In the second part of my thesis I demonstrate the structure of currently used networks, and the LTE network, focusing on the differences. I also shed light on the advantages and drawbacks of this new network.

In the following part of my thesis I analize the technologycal options for supporting voice over LTE networks, concentrating on the compatibility with the networks used nowadays, as well as the global development tendencies of telecommunications.

In the final part of my thesis I try to introduce a method, where the most preferable implementation can be picked from the ones described before, and using that method I rate those technologies. I finally point out, that even though I prefer the technology of VoLTE being the path of development, there are cases when the other implementations could be just as appropriate.
