In the age of smart phones, the mobile phone is not only an equipment for communication. Moreover, thanks to the versatility of the phones the telephone function is becoming less important. We rather use our handsets to read our e-mails, visit social sites, navigate when travelling and we even organize our meetings and to-do's with them. The hardware components are not the only reason behind the versatile usage of our phones, a lot depends on the operating system, and on the available software as well. Android is a state-of-the-art mobile OS, which has become a leader in the mobile phones market. As my thesis topic, I have chosen to create a task scheduler application for android. My application's main purpose is to take the personal task scheduler applications to a new level with the usage of widespread location positioning technologies. Users are able to easily record personal todo's to real locations using my application. They are able to plan their day visually, by choosing the locations on a map. In this way, they can organize their reminders by location and not by time, so if a user approaches a previously recorded location, the application alerts.
