Nowadays, due to the increasing competition in the market, companies need to efficiently manage the transport and storage of the materials they use or produce. Therefore, in large-scale plants the automation of warehouses is requirement.
In my thesis, I will present a change of control of a high-volume warehouse already in operation in a pharmaceutical company. During the works, we will make a switch between the technology provided by the two leading controller manufacturing companies.
In the first half of the report, I present the industrial management systems, the structure of the warehouse and the tools therein. I present the operation of newly installed devices and the benefits of the change of control.
In the second part of my report, I present the steps of planning. First, I will describe the structure of the framework used, and then present the communication with the superior system. I will explain in detail the elevator control to be built into the system and outline the implementation of manual control.
The report is concluded with the discussion of the results of the tests executed using new control solution. Then I will evaluate the tasks set out in the job description and explore the possibilities of expansion.
