Developing a management software for Cisco Unified Communications Manager system

In the corporate sector the most important task for operations is developing the profitability which can be achieved in two ways - increase the revenues or reduce the costs. In the name of cost reduction most of the corporates changed their old analog telephone and PBX systems to a Voice over IP solution. However the operation and maintenance of these systems require the proper knowledge from the operators and the acquisition of this knowledge means more costs along the VoIP system for the company.

The subject of my thesis is the creation of a simplified management solution which provides an easy way for the most common tasks in a VoIP system's configuration and which gives a short learning period for the users. With this software the necessary system configuration tasks for the arriving and leaving colleagues could be taken care of semi-automatically with minimal effort on the application operator.

In this thesis I walk through the design and implementation decisions I made while working on this application, from the presentation of the requirements to the final test cases.
