Development of a measurement environment for the examination of 433 MHz radio signal propagation

Nowadays, more and more wireless devices use the ISM frequency (for example 433 MHz frequency) radio signals to communicate. In my thesis I describe the radio propagation models found in the literature and I show the limitation of the applications of the radio propagation models. I present the parameters which influence the radio propagation and I examine the pros and cons of the different types of antennas.

In my thesis I design and execute various radio propagation measurements, in order to show the characteristics of the 433 MHz frequency radio communication system.

To perform the measurement I must implement an application which is able to show the properties of the radio propagation (for example RSSI value). The measurement is carried out in several locations. I collate the the different measured values from the differnt locations and also I compare the results with the radio propagation values.

Based on the several measurements I also examine the behavior of the several antenna types.
