Abstract

This thesis is an insight to the Six Sigma quality control system and it’s quality control methods. In the first paragraph I briefly summarize the chronological development of the quality assurance and the quality control.

In the second paragraph I introduce the origins of the Six Sigma system. . I list the advantages and the disadvantages of the system. After it, I compare the system with other quality control systems. I define the DMAIC cycle steps in detail. I list the most popular Six Sigma tools. I group the tools to „soft” and „hard” tools and I introduce them in detail.

In the third paragraph I make a summary about the machine capability and the process capability from the recent articles. I define the necessery parameters and conditions. I define spread, mean, Gauss-distribution. I discuss the possibility of machine capability on data which’s distribution is not Gaussean.

In the fourth paragraph I use an industrial welding machine’s measurement to make machine capability studies, I evaluate the results. I check the normality of the data to check my results.

In the fifth paragraph I define quality capacity. I introduce the dinamic quality capacity and the stabilized dinamic quality capacity. I make the capacity measures in my example. I evaluate the results and discuss the room for improvement.
