Development and Manufacturing of a Mobile Robotic Platform in a Rapid Prototyping Environment

This project is intended to be about creating and taking part in a Hungarian start-up as a hardware engineer. My assignment is designing and manufacturing a robotic platform for kids. In our start up, we manage to revolutionize educational trends in connection with the learning of coding. Hence our goal is to create a smartphone based programming language, where all the steps can be created without typing a single line of code, with a drag and drop visual language instead. Then the created routine is sent and executed by a robot, which is also fully custom made. We collaborate with FabLab Budapest, an innovational workshop, where we have the opportunity to use all kind of equipment and technical background we need to achieve our goals.

In this study I will give further explanation on creating our hardware with 3D printing, laser cutting, and other new-fangled technologies. Methods, aims and tools will be shortly presented of rapid prototyping. Development and preparation for serial production will be discussed. Fulfilling the special needs of a children’s toy, where besides safety acceptable design is also a challenging requirement. The prototype is ready, currently preparing the product for serial production.
