My task was to develop an interface between a Workflow and Document Handling system (Andoc) and an Enterprice Resource Planning system (SAP) through a complex business process.
In Chapter I, I introduce the framework and environment I used during/in the development. First, I offer a brief introduction of the Andoc system with its important functions. In the next step, I follow the introduction with the Enterprice Resource Planning (ERP) system with an expansive glance at the SAP R/3 system and the ABAP programming language.
I developed an invoice authorization process in order to investigate the presented systems. The documentation workflow of the process was designed and implemented in the Andoc system, thus the accounting workflow was designed and implemented in the SAP system. I demonstate the Andoc system’s process and form creation possibilities and the implementation of the ABAP programs in SAP.
Thirdly, I designed and implemented an item and material request process. I introduce both the document and the request handling tasks. The document and workflow handling is presented in Andoc and the request handling in SAP.
After that, I introduce the interface responsible for the communication during the request handling process.
Finally, I summarize my work and analyze the possibilities for further development.
