The high-voltage transformers are essential appliances of the electrical energysystem and greatly affects on the entire system operational safety.
The purpuse of the high-voltage transformer’s diagnostic examination to implement a series of tests - preventing malfunctions or failures, or at least reduce their number - which would minimize the operational costs.
In the first part of my thesis I demonstrated how we can get a comprehensive picture with the diagnostic methods about the appliance’s (insulation, electrical and mechanical) conditon. In addition, I examined - through the diagnostic methods - the errors can be detected the insultation of transformers and other structural parts.
In the second part of my thesis I introduced the TSI decision supporting expert system developed at the University of Technology and Economics, Department of Electric Power Engineering. and I presenting the results of the test of the TSI system. . After all I show other oppurtunities to develop and refine the system.
