Retopologizing complex geometries

In our days computer graphics gets more and more important with every day, in any way of the life. It is a great expectation from the computer graphics to render more realistic way of the world or its required piece. Although to make this, it is necessary the use of well-detailed models, The numbers of polygons or triangels in a model is a great metric for its detail level. The higher the polygon count is, the more difficult to render or do anyithing computationally intensive work (e.g. animation) with the model.

Although animators do not like to wait long minutes or hours before they can finally see the result of their work, and also while playing video games, the high respond time and the lags bothers the users. To prevent these unwanted behavior someone need to use low polygon count models, which is neccessary in applications like these.

The aim of my thesis is to provide a comprehensive picture of the possibilities of retopologosation methods, and to develop a new application to help the creation of low-poly models.
