In parallel with the development of the wireless telecommunication technology, the data rate requirements of the users are increasing. However, the available frequency bands are limited, so there is a high need for reliable, high spectral efficiency modulation with high data transmission capacity. Modern multicarrier modulations nowadays are characterized by excellent spectral density, high data rates and reliable operation. To realize these systems, it is essential to design such radio frequency hardware that meets the needs of modulations, of which the linearity is critical. In this paper, I would like to present the design, simulation and implementation of a microwave power amplifier, based on modern integrated circuit technology, that can meet the linearity requirements of modern multicarrier modulations. Among the topics covered are multicarrier modulations, radio frequency amplifiers, microwave simulation, radio frequency measurements, radio frequency testing, and their fundamentals.
