The thesis gives an overview of a quality control system by a multinational corporation. In the introductory section the definitions belong to quality will be detailed. The thesis is divided into 9 parts. First of all it summarizes the historical aspects of quality assurance and quality control. The survey starts at the beginning of humanity and goes to nowadays. It surrounds the most important steps of the quality concepts development.
The next discussed point is the biggest chapter, because it contains the modern quality assurance methods by a multinational company. These methods are the followings: Six Sigma, FMEA, MSA, Ishikawa-diagram and real-time production management system.
Six Sigma’s method improves processes with a set of tools and default strategies, with identifying and removing failure causes. With the help of Six Sigma the variability in the manufacturing can be minimized.
FMEA means failure modes end effects analysis. A correct used FMEA system prevents potential failure modes already known from the past, especially related with similar product and processes for the same failure principle. The method is widely used in system engineering, reliability engineering, safety engineering, product development and operations management.
Measurement systems analysis – known as MSA – is an individual experiment which is specially constructed to identify the elements of variation in the measurement. Measurement system analysis evaluates tools for measuring and the methods for obtaining measurements and data to ensure the data’s integrity and measurement’s error implications. MSA analyzes procedures, software, operations and equipment which have an influence on the measurement characteristic.
Ishikawa diagram was developed by the Japanese Kaoru Ishikawa. Very simple said, these casual diagrams show the of a specific individual event. Normally it’s used for quality assurance analysis by seeking the coot-cause of a concrete quality defect as a result of a failure. With this method we are able to identify potential factors that have an effect on the overall effect. Ishikawa diagram contents following categories (6M): Man Power, Methods, Machines, Materials, Measurements, Milieu.
Real-time production management system includes in this thesis ERP and MES. Manufacturing Execution Systems are IT systems which task is to manage the operations in factories. The MES is based on management of resources and product definitions. It integrates dispatching and execution production orders. Collection of production data and scheduling of production processes is also executed. MES contains production performance analysis, which means collecting information to get an overview of the current product’s status.
Enterprise resource planning (ERP) purpose is to make the information flow in the organization easier. The next reason of inaugurate this system is that it handles the connections to outside stakeholders too. Enterprise resource planning systems controls the management of internal and external information. Finance and accounting, sales, manufacturing, services, etc. are related to this system. ERP is released as a software application which integrates all mentioned functions above.
The next discussed point about SAP. It is gathering data from its modules to dispose the organization’s resource planning. SAP makes it able to providing real-time information, allowing easier global integration and on the employees’ side creating a more efficient work environment.
The next big chapter describes the customer claim management process in a multinational company. As a result of the cooperation the formal analysis called 8D-Report is written.
The current used quality management system is recruited as described above. In this last chapter the thesis discusses this present version with only summarized the main points and suggests some new ideas regarding improvements and more efficient issues. The quality assurance’s function can be split into 4 ways. There will be the human resources; qualification of production processes, qualification of manufacturing equipments and qualification of products come into question. Nowadays the multinational corporations give more and more tone to improve its IT system. Quality assurance’s subservience aiming constitutes are significant parts of IT systems and in this writing it is high lightened accordingly. The consummated Q-DAS is on statistical algorithms and calculations based software package. Primarily it is made for the automobile and automobile supplier industry whit a wide range of customization possibilities like evaluation strategies demanded by the car industry. Q-DAS is normally used to analyze machine capability, process capability and statistic tests, etc.
The thesis gives recommendations behalf of the current system, holds some extant elements of it, respectively used several new ideas.
