With the introduction of the Web 2.0 world, the way of content generation and content consumption habits changed, what resulted in a large change in the platforms also. Large content service providers (news outlets) are no longer the source of information, each user has the ability to sharing their own content. Users often take all the opportunities they can, moreover today they gain much more popularity in Internet social networks such as Facebook. In parallel with the development of technology, we can see that the user's are more interested in multimedia contents than traditional text based contents. For this reason, in my thesis, I will examine the multimedia sharing features of these portals. In my thesis I give an overview of technologies which are currently available for development , then I design a well-scaled, modular multimedia web portal. I review how scalable technologies can be used to meet the growing needs of users. Finally, after presenting the completed portal, I present the tools and results of the scalability tests with and without the use of several different technologies.
