Designing and realizing a soil parameter monitoring node in a wireless sensor network

Nowadays sensors can be found almost everywhere. Using these devices several kind of measurements can be performed, and based on these data one can optimize the processes. Because of the development of technology there is an increased demand to be able to have more and more (including environmental) parameters under control.

The aim of this thesis is to develop a wireless sensor that can monitor the environmental parameters (soil moisture, air temperature, light intensity) of the garden and the houseplants. The measurement results can also be downloaded to a computer with ease. My purpose was to design a data logger that can be easily connected to existing IT systems, can be easily used and after installation does not require user intervention.
