To satisfy the needs of the consumer society, the manufacturing and trading of goods are growing fast. The stocks created this way need to be handled and processed, in factories, warehouses and stores as well. An inventory management system is the combination of technology (hardware and software) and processes and procedures that oversee the monitoring and maintenance of stocked products, whether those products are company assets, raw materials and supplies, or finished products ready to be sent to vendors or end consumers. IT support in this area provides great help, makes inventory management simpler and more scalable.
In the dissertation, I will look at the resource management tasks and processes. I will make a general plan and I will describe a specific solution to manage stocks.
In the first chapter I look at the concept of inventory management and examine some of the solutions available on the market. In the second chapter, based on the opportunities examined in the first, I will take a look at the participants and events related to stock management, and the connecting business processes. Finally I will show you a general plan for make an inventory management system, and will present the specific solution I made for a real situation.
