Extending ONAP Platform with Advanced Orchestration Methods

The main goal of my thesis is to introduce the reader to the modern networking technologies such as SDN and NFV. And show the concepts of nowadays network management and orchestration implementation.

In my thesis I’m going to introduce the reader to one of the industry leading automation platform called ONAP. I will present the ONAP orchestration framework and analyse the used algorithms. After evaluating the algorithms, I will implement a new one which purpose is to fill some of the missing functionalities of the existing ones.

Firstly, I will present the newly introduced module, and its implementation plan. Then I will detail the implementation process and the decisions I made during the planning phase. First of all, the design goals and requirements will be presented, then I will show the newly implemented algorithm in detail. After the process I will evaluate my work by calculating the time complexity of my implementation.

After the implementation I’m going to test the new module and compare its results to the existing ones. After evaluating the results, I will show possibilities for development.
