Nowadays, the e-learning is successfully applied in many field. Operating these systems mostly provides the usual tasks for the managers of the serving infrastucture, however, there is the fluctuation of the resource needs which is very special. It is worth to review, how the information derived from the use of learning management systems can be utilized in the management of the underlying IT infrastructure.

In this subject the difficulty is that we do not have a well defined matching between the resource needs of an e-learning system and the available resources of the IT infrastructure.

My task was to familiarize myself with the support areas, structure, resource needs of these learning management systems and the changes of their resource needs. I examined the resource management capabilities of cloud-based infrastructure, and tried to find a proactive solution to support the resource management of e-learning systems.

I reviewed the IT infrastucture of learning management systems based on the three-tier architecture.
