Mechatronics is a popular discipline which includes certain areas of mechanics, electrotechnics, electronics and information technology. Mechatronics technicians primarily find a job in the manufacturing industry where they mainly install, commission, operate, maintain and repair automated equipment and machines. In order to be able to carry out their work properly, they have to learn power electric knowledge in their professional training. A configurable cabinet is a perfect choice for it because the tasks related to electric motor starting, direction of rotation changing and operating with frequency converter can be performed on it.
After the introduction of mechatronics, in the second chapter of my thesis, I examine the framework curriculum of the mechatronics technician professional training. I specify the related laws and regulations then I describe the structure of the framework curriculum, the name of the modules and the examination requirements. In the third chapter I introduce and select the applied devices, and in the fourth and fifth chapters I work out the tasks students have to execute. The sixth chapter contains the design of the control cabinet and the control cabinet layout, and the final chapter explores the possibilities for further development.
