Nowadays, the usage of the image processing systems for solving different tasks

spread fast. It can be used, for example, to determine the velocity of a vehicle, to which

the optical-flow character approach is useful.

The function of the image processing systems requires high computation

capacity, so they need hardware that is fast enough for real-time applications. The

function and computational speed of the microcontrollers increased in the recent years,

providing an opportunity to make smaller image processing system.

A digital image sensor is presented in my thesis, and one microcontroller card

that I use to realize the optical flow algorithm, and image positions with high intensity

pixels are located on the picture as an additional function. I made the hardware design

of a module that can be be mounted on a quadrotor helicopter, and does the

implemented image processing procedures.
