Extension of a PLC based assembly station with a vision system

The topic of this final project is the realization of a real industrial PLC program. The project is about a vision system installed in an assembly line in the Bosch plant in Hatvan. This system checks the components, so that it can be ensured that the final product is built up of the right parts. With this station, the number of waste products can be reduced to the minimum.

This final project guides the reader through the whole project from the building of the test station in the office, to the actual implementation in the production line. First, it gives a detailed description of the devices used for the system, then introduces the test station built in the office, presenting all the difficulties that came across. After, it shows the structure of a PLC project and demonstrates the building of this specific project from scratch, with all the aspects kept in mind during the realization. Finally, as a closing part it gives a close look on the field work in the factory, and summarizes the conclusions that can be drawn from the project.
