In one of the largest tire factory of the country, many types of air handling units are used. The unit, that I present, is a critical device of the new enlargement of said tire factory. It is essential for an important step of the manufacturing, in which the semi-complete material is being dried.
The device is controlled by an Allen-Bradley CompactLogix PLC, and a Human Machine Interface, which runs on a local computer, is responsible for the visualization and observation of the process. It collects data about the cooling, heating, drying and other processes for error reporting and archiving.
At the beginning of my thesis, I will present the PLC family which I used, and the important functions of the development environment. Then I will write a detailed description about the device. In this description I will write about the parameters, which are important from our aspect. After that, I will present in detail the structure and operation of the PLC program. During that, I will write about the Human Machine Interface, which was developed in the FactoryTalk View Studio integrated development environment. I finish my essay with writing about the commissioning, the emerging problems during the test session and how I solved these problems.
