The aim of this thesis is to introduce an IoT platform-based Smart Parking solution. From the design to the solution delivery of an IT system tailored to the specific needs.

Smart systems have gained broad popularity over the past decade and are used in many areas, such as agricultural production, weather monitoring stations, car factories and transportation. Although the marketing value of an an IoT system is not negligible, the primary purpose of the implementation was to gain practical experience and build a system of known IT technologies.

The project-based implementation starts with the installation of the sensors. The process covers the full lifecycle of the implementation from the building of the microcontroller based data processing and transmission, through the integration into the IT infrastructure up till the delivery to the users. The first part of the thesis presents the results of the documented interviews while the second part discusses the details of the design and implementation process. The summary of the thesis emphasizes the further development possibilities of using new technologies and enhancing user experience as the next phase of the project.
