Portable computing devices are getting more and more popular nowadays. This is opening up new aspects in optimizing the efficiency of business processes. The demand for widely accessible, portable devices has increased, so optimizing the software for portable devices has gained a significant role in the development of the application. The goal of my thesis is to create two, ordering system helper applications for Android platform. The first application is for placing and monitoring the order, while the second application's task is taking and fulfilling the order. Providing a high user experience is amongst my goals in the development of both applications, using the best practices of current technology. In architectural planning I've placed great emphasis on increasing the efficiency of network communication, structured building of screen handling, and the application's expansibility. So I integrated Google's Statistics Library for setting the path for future developments. I've tested the application's main core functions with unit testing. In order to improve user experience, I integrated the Ubertester service, which allows me to release beta versions and to detect and fix any errors that might occur.
