Procedural Modeling in Computer Graphics

Nowadays, traditional modelling cannot keep up with the increasing computing capacity of computers and graphics hardware, hence procedural solutions become more and more important.

The main challenge in procedural modelling is the definition of production rules. If we could find the rules of a system that generates a given model, it would be helpful, as new similar models could be created by just modifying the parameters of the system.

In my thesis, my aim is to provide a solution to a simplification of the problem with the usage of L-systems. I briefly summarize the main characteristics of L-systems, and present the procedures needed to solve the simplified problem and the modules that realize the solution. Finally, I evaluate the results.
