In the first part of the semester I had to learn about the high performance radiofrequency amplifier (HPA, High Power Amplifier) of the TAR-2 radar system deployed in 2006 to the Ferihegy airport, but not overtaken till the hand in for this thesis. I also needed to know what kind of abnormalities and errors can occur during the work of the radar. After that I learned about the working and measuring method of the HPA monitoring device developed in the V2 building 619 laboratory. I have worked out a method for the calibration of the mentioned instrument and I have accomplished checked it on the files which have been measured on the radar. For the accomplishment I used LabVIEW program environment and the generators and oscilloscope which were available in the laboratory.
With the calibrated device the measurement of the amplifiers during work will be able to accomplished after some upgrades. One of the next steps could be the implementation of the calibration databases into the instruments and the test of compact devices made that way at real conditions.
