Design of radio frequency reactive power meter

The topic of my thesis is the design of a Radio Frequency Reactive Power Meter. I had to design a circuit for a cancer theraphy device that can measure the reactive power flow on the output.

In the introduction of my thesis I present the construction and the principle of operation of the tratment device, and I show the technical aspects of the experiments to be carried out animals once the circuit constituting the topic of this thesis is ready.

In the next part, I analyse the design and the operation of the real power meter circuit that has already been completed before. I show why this solution provides a signal that is proportional to the real power on its output.

After this I give an overview of the possibilities of measuring the reactive power, the possibilities and difficulties of realization, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of them. On the basis of these I show a solution which that is adequate for the specified task.

I give an overview of the schematic of the circuit: the functions of the elements and the components necessary to ralize the circuit.

I conclude the analysis of the design process with the brief description of the steps necessary for the realization of the PCB, and finally I finish my thesis with the experience I gained during the curcuit’s test and the presentation of the results.
