Design of radio alarm system modules with microcontroller

Nowadays, alarm systems have important roles, as they are responsible for the safety of our houses. They usually connect to each other by creating wireless connection. Through this channel, they pass information to each other. This means they use radio communication. These systems consist of a central data processing system and at least one module which is equipped with a remote sensor.

In this thesis, I program and set up a previously designed central processing module and a remote motion sensor module, then I start to design a sound sensor module. The two existing modules are able to communicate with each other, the central processing module can create communication with the PC, the remote module uses the sensors to detect.

By doing this project I could observe alarm systems and their solutions, I could experiment with basic design procedures of embedded systems. I was able to test a microcontroller and a development kit. I could gain experience in hardware design and system-level software programming as well.
