Nowadays using electricity is essential in every household and company. For the continuity of supply we have to carry out maintenance of high voltage network components. These days robot technology is starting to spread for diagnostic aim abroad, which guarantees the employees’ safety. It’s also an efficient technology in live line working.
The aim of my thesis is to demonstrate this technology and its sensors in high electric and magnetic field in laboratory circumstances.
Firstly, I demonstrate the robots using abroad, which exist not only in laboratory circumstances, but are also used in real conditions. I show you solving power line and manipulation tasks with examples by using this technology.
Secondly, I would like to present the physical process of robotic technology used for live line work, mainly focusing on how to install the robots to energized power lines.
Thirdly, with field simulations I study the technical background of electric and magnetic field effects on a robot’s sensor. I analyze how to place a sensor in a robot to operate faultlessly.
Finally, I study how the calculated and simulated results work in practice and how a camera works near a 400kV power line in a laboratory.
