During an expansion of one of the tire factories of the country a new cooling water system was constructed which is a part of a utility system that is serving the new producing system.
The main purpose of this system is to ensure the temperature controlling of the equipments and the products. The system consists of multiple smaller components which are connected physically, so in the control and SCADA system it can be treated as one unit, a subsystem.
The actuality and topic of this dissertation is the developing and set-up of the control and supervisor system highlighting the SCADA interface.
Rockwell PLC and HMI software and hardware components were used to develop the control system, with taking account of the emerging customer requirements and needs.
The newly created system is matching today’s needs and standards as it realizes a distributed control and monitor one, which has redundant components to improve stability and error tolerance.
The structure of the dissertation is following the developing steps as it presents the development process from hardware selection through control development finishing with SCADA programming, system testing and setting-up.
The final result is a modern control, visualization and data acquisition system that fulfills the functional expectations.
