The topic of this thesis is the analysis of the malfunctions experienced at the high range operation of the TAR-2 secondary surveliance radar. This radar is placed at Liszt Ferenc Airport, Hungary, and it is the property of the HungaroControl Pte. Ltd. Co. .
The applied method consists of two steps. Firstly, the input data that correspond to the ASTERIX standard were filtered and converted to a more manageable format. After that these data were the basis of further processes. The structure of the thesis corresponds to these steps.
After the introduction, the second part includes a brief summary of the operation of SSR and a simple simulation regarding the analysed malfunction. The description of the applied methods and the achieved results take place in the following sections. The third section describes the considerations regarding the preprocessing. The processing tasks like track pairing or coordinate conversion can be found in the fourth section.
However, the mentioned malfunctions were noticed in several cases due to coordinate conversion problems the complete analysis still needs further development.
