The subject of my thesis is getting acquainted with the Siemens S7-1200 compact controller's potential, especially highlighting the built-in web server. I demonstate the possibilities with an example of my own choosing whilst demonstrating the developing environment as well.
I will talk about the advantages of a modern PLC and the usual expectations against it, also if my choosen PLC family meets those conditions. I will focus on the capabilities of the embedded webserver, its attributes and the built in web pages.
Moreover, I will discuss the security functions, their leaks provided by the PLC, also some suggestions to improve them. I will also share information about some interesting features, malfunctions and their possible solving.
Regarding the realized task, I will introduce the modell of a real life industrial process, with a schematic drawing. I will also show the self-made simulation of the process, emphasizing the simplifications, the possible limitations, or linearizations. After the specification of the user webpage, I will present the tools and scripts I used to build it, and explain the operation of those. I will also briefly discuss the control program I wrote, with all its functions, and methods. After every section, I mention the further development opportunities, and the possible specialities of realization. After each part I also discuss some alternative realization methods, with their advantages, disadvantages, then I justify my choice.
At the end of the thesis, I will briefly discuss the embedded webserver's potential, and possible future.
