The Internet of things is one of the most mentioned phrase nowadays. These smart devices are gaining ground in all aspects of life, in the near future probable every electric device will be connected to the internet. One of the latest application is in the sport analytics, where data will be collected about the athlete or even the sport equipments. Analysing these data sets we can help to improve the sport performance, the movements, forecast injuries or sign the coach if the players are tired.
The purpose of this thesis is to make an IoT application which can be used in any sports to collect real-time data into a cloud-based database. Make statistics to improve the sport performance.
In my work I did measurements to collect data from various sensors, like gyroscopes, accelerometer and pulse meter. I built a system which is able to collect real-time measurement data in a server application which provides statistics and metrics about the performance of the athlete. I analysed the incoming data and designed different routines distinguish different types of movement.
