Improving sensor analysis efficiency during cross check

Automotive industry is one of the key sector of global economy. In Hungary the evolution of automotive industry was higher than the European average [17], the leading car brands and automotive industry suppliers are building factories and besides they are also locating developing centers in our country. Especially the production support of development activity is in main focus.

Bosch is one of the biggest automotive industry supplier. The airbag system and it's sensors have developed by Bosch since it's released. In the Engineering Center Budapest (ECB) which is located in Budapest at Gyömrői street there is a department which supports the production of the airbag systems in the factories.

The support includes:

" technical analysis of customer complaints,

" coordination of technical changes in production,

" problem solving support for production,

" support of optimization in serial production.

The general conditions, professional support and equipments for my diploma work are ensured by this department.

In the last decade more and more time of our life is spent in cars that is why the number of road accidents has increased singificantly. The development of electronic in the last decades enables that more and more electronical devices are built in cars. Safety devices are one of the most important group of these. We distinguish active and passive safety devices.

The active safety systems are for avoing or minimise the severity of a crash, like Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Stability Program (ESP) and break assistant.

The main function of passive safety systems (e.g.: airbag systems) are to reduce the negative effects of a crash (death, serious injures) for the drivers and passengers. The sensors are one of the most significant part of the car's airbag system. They detect the crash and activate the system..

The topic of my diploma work is to increase the efficiency of the airbag sensor analysis.
