Nowadays, with the rapid development of web technologies, web applications gain more and more ground. Modern web browsers rapidly implement the newest standards for web development. This resulted in the quick spread of HTML5, and today it is the base of every web application. Thanks to HTML5, more applications can be developed with browser and platform independence. Web frameworks built on HTML5 and web components, like Polymer help developers make reusable and well structured applications.

In my thesis, I present the design and development of a frontend application that presents the data collected from a sensor network built on street lights. In my thesis I examine the possibilities of using new web technologies during development, and I present the technologies used. I examine the aspects of browser independent app development and web ergonomics. I present the design steps of the user interface, then the implementation of each component. At the end, I design the component responsible for displaying heatmap data, then I present the elements of the implementation.
