Development of a Word Finder Game

Certainly everybody knows the famous boggle mind game. The player's objective is to find all possible words that can be created from the matrix of letters. Words must be at least three letters long and can be found horizontally, vertically and diagonally. In my thesis I aim to develop a 3-by-3 boggle game, which contains words from a given dictionary. By the help of a computer this list of words is copied to the flash memory interfaced to the hardware.

In the first chapter of my thesis I expound the objectives of the semester and the limitations and issues concerning realization.

In the second part I briefly explain about the global optimization and I demonstrate some possibilities which offer potential solutions to the limiting factors. I also write about how I managed to solve the issue of generating and solving boggle games.

In the next chapter I demonstrate the parts I used and describe the schematics and the design of the printed circuit board in detail.

I describe the software side of the word search game in the fourth section of my thesis. I write about the embedded system running on the microcontroller and the client application which runs on a personal computer.

In the final section of my thesis I evaluate the results and I describe further development opportunities, which make the hardware more effective and entertaining.
