Development of service-oriented healthcare solution in Liferay

Delivering the capacity for interoperability between healthcare information systems has been a major focus for decades among the EU eHealth strategies. Lately numerous national and international projects have been started with the goal of achieving this.

The project realizes a portal that serves as a common platform for the participants of the healthcare system. The portal will contribute to eliminate the disparity observable in healthcare information services by giving less developed institutions access to using high-level IT services.

In my thesis I developed the business logging module for the portal mentioned above. In the documentation I review the structure of the project, the concept of the business logging, and the technologies being used during the implementation. In the realization I developed a solution for the logging system that can be inserted into a Liferay portal and capable of reporting the business logs and showing details. The realization was made with Java Server Faces technology using classical MVC architecture. I implemented SOA services in an Oracle Weblogic Server Environment for querying the data.
