Homestead electric power supply by renewable energy sources

Nowadays, the residential electricity demand continuously grows, not only in the cities but also in the rural areas. In order to keep up with the increasing demands, it is necessary to expand the network and increase the production. Electrical energy is becoming more widely and more frequently used, everyday accessibility is now considered as a fundamental right. Renewable energy sources provide a good opportunity to produce the needed amount of energy without the emission of greenhouse gases, even away from the electrical power transmission lines.

In my thesis I examined the electricity supply from renewable energy sources for a farm, that wants to get independent from the electricity network. In the first part of my work I examined the possibilities of converting wind energy into electricity for residential consumers. After estimating the electrical energy need of the household, I introduced the Hybrid Energy container. I compared the energy produced by the container with the required energy of the household, which after I calculated economic return of the container, assuming it is feeding back into the local grid.
