Building a web based board game

Nowadays, when the board gaming culture is in its golden age, and the ever improving branch of business, we call information technology is nearing its next booming period, it would be a huge mistake not to take advantage of the potential of this combination. Using the cognitive and social properties of board games and combining them with the power of the virtual world, the created game could give a whole new experience to the users. However, games with these kinds of changes could destroy the atmosphere that is created by the original game, so the critical point is to properly migrate from real to virtual.

The purpose of the thesis is to build a web based board game, which makes a great place for people, who would like to have fun and get to know new people at the same time. In this paper after presenting the chosen technologies I describe the whole development process from the very beginning to the end, explaining how I designed the architecture and the user interface of the application, and then how I implemented my previously created plans.

The result is not only the created application, but the process itself, where the things I learned from this project greatly improved my design and development capabilities and also increased my technological knowledge.
