Developing remote controlled light switch

In my thesis I present the development of a remote controlled light switch. My aim is to create a well-functioning prototype. At the beginning of my thesis I provide an insight into intelligent buildings. I introduce a number of existing and under development technology. Subsequently, I give the specifications of the implemented system. It is followed by an exposition of its theoretical background. In the fourth chapter I show the applied wireless data transfer technology. Then I describe certain types of encryption methods along with the advantages and disadvantages of using them. I explain the applied encrypton method in detail. After the exposition of the theoretical background comes the presentation of realization. I present the implemented tasks, and in the following section I explain the occured troubles during the development and their solutions. I introduce the development of the remote control’s software first, and then the development of the receiver’s hardware and software. Finally the applied power supply is thoroughly explained. As a conclusion of my thesis I evaluate the properties of the prototype created, and mention some possibilities for further development.
