Nowadays the multimedia is an integral part of our life. The Internet is used to transmit multimedia content more and more widely. Of course it is used to transmit high-quality video.

The purpose of my thesis is to develop a device, that is capable of compressing and transmitting low-latency and high-definition video on the Internet. I chose the JPEG2000 compression method. It is a image compression standard, but it is capable of transmitting videos. I started the implementation of JPEG2000 after the theoretical foundation. At first I realized the discrete wavelet transformation.
