Development of a remote data acquisition platform

In the industrial environment there is often a need for measuring and storing analog and digital sensors’ data. The datas long term storing should be ensured by the measuring system, so the available data collecting systems on the market are very expensive and complex. In case of a simpler system the use of these data collecting systems are not affordable.

My task was to design and build such a data collecting system from affordable components, which can collect, store and visualize the collected data. It’s structure should be similar to process control computers, which has a modular structure. My task consists of designing, building and testing of an analog and a digital module, which can measure the signals, used in the industrial environment. The data collected by the modules, should be stored in such a database on the central unit, which can be reached from web browsers, from distant places. The webpage should not only visualize the data, but set the modules’ settings over the internet.
