Developing a customizable web based system for data recording on Google App Engine platform

Cloud computing is not considered a new technology nowadays, but it went through remarkable progress and growth over the last few years. One of the main reason that is big companies, such as Amazon, Microsoft, Google, IBM spend more and more money in this sector in order to develop their technologies, products and services. The goal of this thesis is to get acquainted with Google App Engine services – which are part of the Google Cloud Platform – by designing and developing a software.

We record and store a lot of data in different systems every day both at work and in our private life. For example we make notes, create and fill questionnaires or use a CRM system. Therefor in the course of this thesis I made a software, which tries to give a solution so we can do all these activities at the same place. The application provides an opportunity for the users to make their own schemas and models of the data, what they want to store.

As part of the thesis I created the specification of this software, then I designed its architecture considering the possibilities, advantages and limits of the platform. After implementing the server side of the application I also made a responsive web user interface.
